Last month, we ran a paid campaign on Facebook to increase page 'likes'. We ran the campaign for a week and received over 200 likes! A wonderful result, which has prompted us to re-advertise again on Monday 11th the week prior to market day.
At last month's market, we ran a casual poll on how people found out about the market. The majority said through pamphlet drops, Channel 31 and street signage. Only ONE (I'm certain there were others) said that they saw our advert in the paper. This month we're going to change tactic so instead of paid newspaper advertising, we will be targeting the nearby suburbs of Ascot Vale and Yarraville and see what response we get through the gates on market day. Further to this, we will be will be continuing our monthly 5,000 market pamphlet drop to selected streets in the Kensington and Flemington precincts.
We will again be advertising in the Ascot Vale Primary School newsletter in market week. This newsletter goes to over 300 families and is very popular.
Along with the advertising above, we have also been in contact with the following media associations:
Metropolitan Newspapers:
Metropolitan Radio:
We have organised 10,000 fridge magnets with our logo (round) and website address printed on them. I'll have them on market day and I ask that stall holders display and offer them to their clients.
Thanks to Stacey and her wonderful team at Costume Box Kids Entertainment, we will have Olaf and Elsa from the kids movie "Frozen" roving around the school, entertaining children with their "Frozen" photo booth, face painting and balloon twisting. Given this wonderful opportunity, I will be delivering to 4 nearby schools (or more if we don't run out!) postcards to place in the children's bags to take home. Hopefully, this will increase people traffic through the gates!
Further to this, we continue our monthly precinct marketing activities:
We will continue quarterly advertising space (Winter Edition) in the Kensington/Flemington newspaper which covers all of the Kensington and Flemington areas (and a few surrounding streets). We will also be having an editorial in the Spring edition.
New market posters printed and they have been placed in the Kensington and Flemington shopping precincts along with market postcards in selected stores.
On market day, volunteers and Committee members will hand out flyers to people in the Kensington Shopping Strips, namely Macaulay and Bellair Streets. We will also have chalk signage on the main roads, along with bunting and balloons at the front gates.
Electronic links available to all stall holders are as follows:
We are always open to any advertising suggestions that you may have, so please feel free to email me and share your thoughts.
