What's happening this month…..
To advise all new stall holders on the advertising to date, please see the purple links below. These sites will be updated on a monthly basis and can be an extremely useful tool in advertising your business. Please feel free to 'add yourselves' and use any of the marketing sites on your website or Facebook page, along with our logo.
We would love to feature more stall holders on our web site. The website is another avenue for promoting your business, and provides the consumer with direct contact to you, thus raising awareness of your profile and your earning potential. If you wish to be on the web page, we require either a picture, logo or banner and your Facebook or website URL. Please consider this viable promotional tool.
Our Facebook page:
Please don't forget to 'like', ‘tag’, 'add' and 'share' yourselves to the Kensington Arts and Craft Market Facebook page. Sharing the market page amongst your friends will also promote your business and raise awareness of the market. We also strongly urge you to 'review' the market either by commenting on your experience, or showcasing your business. The 'review' and 'recent posts by others' sections are on the right hand side of the page. The Facebook details are as follows:

Exciting news this month is that we will be featured in The Spectrum segment of The Age on Saturday 18th October! Hopefully this will attract market goers through the gates.
Thanks to Stacey and her wonderful team at Costume Box Kids Entertainment, we will have Ben and Holly from the ABC show Ben and Holly's Kingdom roaming around the school and down the main streets of Kensington, entertaining children with face painting and balloon twisting. Unfortunately we don't have the petting zoo this month.
We will be advertising in the Ascot Vale & Ascot Vale West Primary School newsletters and distributing postcards to Holy Rosary, St Brendan's and Kensington Primary school families the week prior to market day. There are approximately 300 children at each school.
We are re-advertising in the Maribyrnong/Hobsons Bay newspaper. The colour advert is 13 x 6cm and will be distributed in the following areas: Altona; Altona Meadows; Altona North; Braybrook; Brooklyn; Footscray; West Footscray; Kingsville; Laverton; Maidstone; Maribyrnong; Newport; Seddon; Spotswood; Williamstown and Yarraville. That's over 60,000 homes in a brilliant part of Melbourne - very eclectic and diverse pockets of communities in the west that embrace markets!
In keeping with the western suburbs we have also decided to advertise in the Star Wyndham Weekly which encompasses the areas of Hoppers Crossing, Laverton North, Little River, Point cook, Sanctuary Lakes, Seabrook, Tarneit, Werribee, Werribee South and Wyndham Vale. Whilst I realise that these suburbs are not in close proximity to the market, I have found that the western suburbs advertising has been more successful than the inner city and northern suburbs advertising that we have undertaken in the past. The area covers over 50,000 homes, so let's give it a go and see if the numbers increase on the day! Both adverts will come out on the 15th October.
Last month, we ran a few pad campaigns on Facebook which were extremely successful and certainly assisted the market numbers last month. We will be doing that again from this week onwards.
Along with the advertising above, we have also been in contact with the following media associations:
Metropolitan Newspapers:
Suburban Newspapers:
Metropolitan Radio:
Metropolitan Television:
We have badges left over from the last market so we ask that you wear yours on the day. If you don’t have one, please ask one of our volunteers to get one for you. We will also be handing the badges out to market attendees.
We will have live music both indoors and outdoors on the day; Further to this, we continue our monthly precinct marketing activities:
On market day, volunteers and Committee members will hand out flyers to people in the Kensington Shopping Strips, namely Macaulay and Bellair Streets. We will also have chalk signage on the main roads, along with bunting, market signage and balloons at the front gates.
Electronic links available to all stall holders are as follows:
If you have any ideas or suggestions on how we can advertise our market further, please do not hesitate to get in contact!
